Abstract

One of the key phenomena of recent decades is globalization. This phenomenon has multiple economic, political, social, and cultural dimensions, and depending on different perspectives, it can be considered both an opportunity and a threat. Among the cultural threats posed by globalization are cultural decay and cultural invasion—issues that Ayatollah Khamenei has repeatedly warned cultural officials about. Accordingly, this study aims to explain the role of the education system in fostering cultural resistance, with a particular focus on Ayatollah Khamenei’s thought. To achieve this, a deductive-analytical research method was employed to identify the components of cultural resistance and to analyze and explain the role of the education system in achieving it. The findings indicate that the education system can contribute to cultural resistance by fostering ten key components: “awareness-raising,” “spirituality,” “continuous struggle,” “opposition to hegemonic systems,” “participation and responsibility,” “power and strength,” “pursuit of justice,” “Iranian-Islamic identity,” “acquisition of moral virtues,” and “self-purification.”
